moesyk4 Posted March 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2019 We will be in San Juan from 7:30 to 1 next month. Want to see a fort with the kids and do some sightseeing...realistically will have 3 to 3.5 hours and a slow pace as our youngest is 4. Any suggestions for a self guided walking tour plan? Also, is it possible to bring an umbrella stroller if we are ok folding it up occasionally or would it be too much of a hassle?
Rare broberts Posted March 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Getting to either fort is mostly uphill. San Cristobal has wonderful views over the old city, some nice displays, and I think is more suitable for youngsters. https://www.nps.gov/saju/index.htm The free trolley might be an option, https://sanjuanpuertorico.com/trolley-old-san-juan/. The sail in is spectacular with El Morro on the port side. Your kids will likely be fascinated.
mrsh2os Posted March 24, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2019 We followed parts 1 and 2 of this self-guided walking tour and really enjoyed our day! Yes, it's uphill and the streets are cobblestone so not smooth, but I think a stroller would be a great idea. https://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/old-san-juan-walking-tour-1/
