Overnight port stop

When you stay overnight in a port, what time do you have to be back on board? We're overnighting in Rotterdam this spring and were wondering if we can return to the ship anytime before we sail the next day.

It's up to you, you can Even sleep onshore and it is your own responsability to be back at the all aboard time.

So if we want to come back at 2 or 3 in the morning, there will be someone to let us on the ship?

I did just this in Havana with no issues whatsoever, and believe me, their customs/inmigration officers are a bit tougher than any other port I've been through.
