Nice to see the towel animals.  Thought they had been discontinued.

They all were so cute!! I think that news came out around the first of April. I’m thinking it was an April Fools joke that has gone viral and really blown up... at least I’m hoping that’s all it is.

Thursday- Nassau
We planned a beach day at the British Colonial Hilton. We had placed a down payment for 3 adult tickets and a child’s ticket with the baby being free. We had thought this would be a great excursion if GSC was missed. We had heard it would be a quick walk there. So we used our morning sleeping in or grabbing a quick breakfast at O’Sheehan’s. Middle son joined me this was his 2 egg breakfast.

Went back to the room to wake the others and load up our laundry for the $19.95. The deal is laundry that will fit into the bag will be washed, dried, and folded and returned. We rolled and stuffed as much as we could in the bag.

And left it on the bed for Gede, our room steward. Who happened to be wonderful and worked around our crazy schedule. He emptied the fridge, found a robe for me, and always had a smile.

When we were done we were ready to walk ashore. We saw the beautiful art on the side of the ship and walked the long peer to Nassau.

It was at this point that we realized that we had no idea where we were heading. After leaving the port area we finally found the hotel on the map on my husbands phone. The sidewalks going there were very uneven and hard going. We turned right and kept walking on the road until we finally made it to the hotel.

The entry was beautiful and we went to the front desk to pay the remainder of the balance. We were given armbands, a ticket for towels and a food voucher for $40 for each of the adult tickets.

The hotel access allows use of the bars restaurants pool and beach chairs.

We went straight to the beach and found all the umbrella chairs were in use. It was overcast so we settled for 4 chairs close to the water. As soon as we placed our towels on the chair it started to rain... then pour.

Everyone from the pool and beach ran to a small bar restaurant covered area. We all huddled under an umbrella while the waitstaff pushed and shoved tables to get us all under the patio.

Just then I looked, and sure enough, the towels were still down on the beach chairs. Great!

We gave the waitress our ticket for food and ordered drinks. My husband chose the Bahama Papa. Which is a stronger form of a Bahama Mama. So not to be outdone I ordered one also. BEST DRINK EVER!

We also ordered food but it took awhile because the kitchen was backed up with the rush of orders. We didn’t have anywhere to go so no worries.

Lunch was burgers and ribs.

Mine came with cheese so I passed that on to the boys and tried one of the ribs (I know the bbq sauce was iffy for butter and gluten but I was hungry and had had 2 Bahamas Papas.)

Our food voucher covered our cost so after tipping and with the the rain done we went to play ping pong and chess.

We all had so much sun the day before we decided to start back to the ship. We stopped at the straw market and got a Nassau shirt for baby.

They said it was lots of fun and that the clubs and balls where just there waiting at the beginning of the course. They got some photos of our neighbor, Carnival Pride.

Then it was sail away from beautiful but rainy Nassau.

Will be on Escape in a month.  After reading your review all I can say is "I'm hungry!!!!!"

Elvis

Food is always a subjective thing. But we really enjoyed everything we ate. And if we did there was always other options. And I sure miss all these yummy things!

Other than the uneven sidewalks...was the walk to the British Colonial Hilton easy and quick? Were you happy with the experience? I realize it rained, but otherwise was the hotel ok. We'll be going next week.

If we had known that it wasn’t right there at the end of the pier. Plus, if we had made sure to have had directions it would of been a bit easier. In my mind I really thought we would see it from the end of the pier. And that wasn’t the case.

It took us about 15-20 minutes to get there. So I wouldn’t say quick but doable.

If we went back I would do it again. We really had a great time. The staff was amazing! We have also done Blue Lagoon and would still choose the Hilton. Hope you have a great time!

Thank you so much! Was the construction noise a problem?

Friday-Sea day
Woke to very rough seas. Now we don’t usually get seasick and thankfully this doesn’t effect us too badly. But it was entertaining to watch baby try to walk in the hallways.

Breakfast at O’Sheehan’s was a little different. I was brought a blue berry muffin with my food.

The server said it was GF but didn’t mention DF so I let the family enjoy it. Better safe then sorry! My middle son changed up his order to French Toast
