White House Beach Resort Excursion on NCL?

Have any of you ever taken this excursion (White House Beach Resort) or been to this place?  What are your thoughts?

We prefer to do the cruise ship excursions if they are worth the effort just because of the convenience and knowing we'll get back to the ship in time.  But this is the only beach excursion offered by the ship...and I'm not even sure if this is on the Seven-Mile Beach.

We are open to other suggestions if you think they would be of interest.  All we care to do that day is spend some time on the beach and to have a decent lunch experience.

Thanks.

White House is not on SMB.  It’s in Bodden Town, the island’s original capital, about 20-30 min from the port, in the opposite direction from SMB.

I haven’t been there, but I’ve driven by it a lot.  They have info and pics on their website.

This place is owned and run by the family that owned the old Tiki Beach beach club on Seven Mile Beach near the the new Kimpton hotel, that was a popular cruise excursion destination.  The building and grounds are a converted villa, once owned by a casino magnate.

As bookbabe stated, it is not on Seven Mile Beach.  The water is technically swimmable, but shallow and the sea floor is hard pan and rock, no sand.  It is better for snorkeling than swimming.  They have a tiny pool, but I'd have to imagine that gets overrun when the tour bus drops the first group of day-trippers off.  There is a small beach area with loungers and they appear to have kayaks and paddle boards available for guest use, not sure if there is a fee.

I have had a few lunches and a dinner here.  The food has been OK, the service a little slow since the kitchen is back in the villa and they have to run it back to the deck.  The set-up for cruise excursions is probably more buffet oriented.

The best thing about the place is that it probably has one of the best over-water settings and views on the island.

If you want a proper beach excursion, I'd suggest taking a taxi or bus to either Calico Jacks/Public Beach or Royal Palms beach club on Seven Mile Beach.  If you've done those already and want to try something different, then maybe give the Whitehouse a try.
