JennPVMX Posted April 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2019 We are sailing on the Splendor in a few weeks. Our return flight home is at 3pm at LAX. Anyone have any advice as to what we can do between debarkation and our flight? Family of 4, including 2 kids ages 8 and 13. We don’t necessarily have plans to rent a car... unless we really need to. Bruin Steve Posted April 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2019 You don't have as much time as you may think...Say you are off the ship by 9:00 (and, in Long Beach with Carnival, that is not always a sure thing)...You should really plan on being at LAX at least two hours before your flight--so, say 1:00 pm. Leave yourselves an hour (though it might be shorter, but with LA traffic you never know) to get from Long Beach to LAX (about 23-24 miles)...So, you really only have about three hours to spend somewhere...and, you have your luggage with you... The two easy choices are fairly close to the pier--the Queen Mary or the Aquarium of the Pacific. The QM is right next door to the Carnival Terminal...but it doesn't open until 10:00 am...and tours don't start until 11:15! The Aquarium is across the channel--but reachable by using the free Passport shuttle--or a cheap Uber ride. It opens at 9:00 and costs $30 for an adult, $18 for a child...and, IIRC, they WILL store your luggage for you while you visit. So, it may make sense to head over there, spend about 3 hours, then hail an Uber to pick you up to take you to LAX around noon...
KeepCalmBearOn Posted April 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2019 Go to In-n-Out Burger at the entrance of LAX. That is about all you really have time for.
