Grotto bay to Dockyard

Looking at possible sunset cruise that also includes glow worms that would run from 6 to approx 8:30 that leaves from Grotto Bay.  Question is if cruise returns at 8:30 would we still be able to catch the last ferry from Hamilton to the dockyard or would we need to get a taxi?

You need a taxi for two reasons...there aren't  buses that run from Grotto Bay to Hamilton that late and even if there were the last ferry leaves Hamilton at 9 pm,  (except Wednesdays at 10:30 pm) too early even if you took a taxi from Grotto Bay. You could take a taxi to Hamilton and probably catch a late #7 or #8 bus from there to Dockyard however. Here are the bus and ferry schedules:
