First timer - how easy is it to DIY in ports??

Recommended Posts

Booked with RC for western Med - Cartagena, Barcelona, Palma, Corsica and Portofino. Am just beginning my research, but how easy is it to do your own thing in each of these ports rather than organised tours? We are fairly confident travellers but will have an 11 year old and nine year old with us, who are used to walking and sightseeing.

I can say that Barcelona is a very easy city to tour.  Excellent metro system, hoho buses, many interesting things within walking distance of Las Ramblas.

Check out the port of call forums.

Barcelona, Cartegena and both Corsican ports, Ajaccio and Calvi, are very easy to get around straight off the ship, Palma city centre is just a short taxi ride or a 3 mile walk from the port, have not been to Potofino.
