lovethecaribbean31 Posted January 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2006 We will be in Juneau during the first week of August on the Sapphire Princess. I am trying to decide between two of the helicopter tours they offer. Either the Mendenhall Glacier (with a landing), or the Four Glacier Adventure-Hole in the Wall, Taku, Norris, and Dead Branch or East Twin, with a landing on Norris or Taku. Which do you think is better? It seems like the four glaciers would be better because you would see more variety? Thanks for your advice!
Budget Queen Posted January 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2006 I would also suggest you may want to consider independent with their double glacier - pilots choice option. Mendenhall is via TEMSCO, a great company, ERA is your other company for the multi glaciers. Also look at Coastal who is usually the cheapest. Any glacier landing is excellent, the difference will be in time of tour, and number of landings. The basic tours are great.
ClassyShots Posted January 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2006 I'll go along with what Budget Queen said on the pilot's choice. Those guys know the best places to go for the conditions on that day at that time. Done it and loved it.
