mumom95 Posted January 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2006 We are looking at booking the White Pass Rail excursion for our trip. We are planning on doing the rail roundtrip and renting a car to make the drive to Emerald Lake. Question. Is the viewing for the rail better in the morning or in the afternoon. Would you recommend taking the 8:10 train and then driving to Emerald lake or driving to Emerald lake and then taking the 4:30 train? Thanks in advance for your help. Budget Queen Posted January 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2006 Doesn't really matter. :) If you take the train first, you would have some of their commentary perhaps that will enhance the drive??? But certainly Murray's guide is just a superb document that will also tell you most everything. :)
Yukon Posted January 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2006 If you're a photographer, the tunnel-to-Summit area will have better light for pictures in the afternoon. Except for that, it doesn't matter whether you go morning or afternoon - it's a great trip any time of day. Murray

MR_BUTCHIE Posted January 29, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2006 if you book the rail trip through the cruise line will it be the same as if you book it on your own i like the idea of being picked up at the dock walking into town will be harder for some of our group
