Booking number from TA

I booked through my local TA and when I enter my booking number on the new Carnival website it says that an "exact match cannot be found". So I called and they said that you can only enter booking numbers if you booked with Carnival. Is this true? It just doesn't seem right to me.

I had problems at first too. Make sure the letters in your booking number are entered as capital letters and the name you are logged on as is the first name that appears on your booking.

Hi Kelly,

 

No it is not true. I too booked with my local TA. Try entering your booking number with Caps then the numbers. My booking number begins with XX. When I entered it using small case it didn't work then I posted the same question on this board and recieved the same instructions I am giving you. I think the people who post on this board are more helpful than the Carnival reps. Try it and please let me know if it works for you.

For instance, if my booking # is X47Z2L, are you saying to enter it as XZL472? I'm confused. I was able to go online and do my FunPass stuff with no problem but if I try to add my booking to my profile, it says that it can't find my booking #.

No.....just make sure your letters in your booking number are typed in as capital letters....not small case letters.

I had the same problem.. it said "users name did not match name on booking" when I called the Carnival helpline they said only people booked through Carnival can add their bookings.

Sounds like this is another sometimes-it-works "glitch" in Carnival's system. icon_rolleyes.gif I booked with a local TA, and was able to enter my booking number on Carnival's website. But I still can't get it to take my Past Guest number. It keeps telling me that it's assigned to someone else. icon_frown.gif

I just called 2 different Carnival reps from their helpline, they said "If you did NOT book with a PVP or from the website you cannot put in your booking number. They said that the website for now is NOT designed to work that way, but in the future you will be able to. So I guess it will never take my booking number...been trying for weeks. The help number is 1-800-845-2599 option 2.

Interesting...I have two cruises booked, with two different TA's and they have both come up for me. You do have to us capital letters and make sure if you are using the number zero, you don't but in the letter "O".

I have been trying for weeks and still no luck, even with capital letters I get the same thing. I called again and Carnival said you cannot enter it if you booked outside of Carnival.

I have two cruises booked, both with different t/a but none directly with Carnival. The one is a CC group cruise and it will not take that number. The other is with a local t/a and it took that booking number on both mine and my hubby's carnival page. So maybe the group thing is what will not work but other t/a bookings can work.

For the Conquest cruise, I didn't book through Carnival and my booking number worked fine at their website. As far as groups are concerned, the group booking number won't work. You have to call your TA and get your individual booking number.

I have tried adding my Miracle reservation using both the group booking number and my individual booking number, and neither one will work.

Carnival INSISTS that you CANNOT add your booking to your profile page, no way was it set up for that!! They could NOT EXPLAIN WHY some people are able to, they just keep on repeating the same statement!!! icon_mad.gif I guess the people able to do this are LUCKY. icon_smile.gif

Could be if you book direct from Carnival or book from a wholesaler who deals direct, your booking number will be there. If however, you book through a TA who doesn't book direct with Carnival, but instead, deals with a wholesaler, your number may not be there because there may be a difference between the number the TA uses with you and the number their wholesaler uses. My booking was with a wholesaler who deals direct with Carnival.

Often TA's will tell a customer they are dealing direct when in reality they are going through a wholesaler. Reasom being is that if the customer knows the truth, they might decide they could cut out the middle man ......

The reservation I could register was made with AAA. But the reservation I couldn't register was with the agency that was just named number one with Carnival so they abviously deal with Carnival direct!! But that one is a CC group cruise.
