winterblue Posted May 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2019 Hey Helpful Cruise Critics! Does anyone have experience with this situation: We are cruising this summer and taking our former foreign exchange student who is from Switzerland. We are having some language and distance issues that are confusing us all about what RC needs. RC needs a notarized statement that she has permission to travel with us--we think we all understand that. She will also have her passport. Anything else? Thanks! Winterblue Make sure the VISA allows re-entry to the US...some of them are one time only!🙄 Edited May 25, 2019 by Thorben-Hendrik
I_r_a Posted May 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2019 Hi W , A limited power of attorney authorizing you to take care of medical emergencies would be useful. Ira
winterblue Posted May 26, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted May 26, 2019 Thank you all. We do have insurance info and medical power of attorney. Swiss are allowed entry without a visa for a visit. Has anyone been in this situation (foriegn minor traveling with us) and had a problem? We will have a notorized statement from both parents saying she is allowed to travel on this ship on this date with us. I just have that little panic that we get to the port and someone says "Oh, you need form 3$#7Ac4 completed. Sorry." 🥺🙄. Hopefully I am overly worried for no reason. That was not applicable for exchange students when I was one.... you needed a special visa to be able to study.... 🙄 Got stuck on a trip to Tijuana... Because of the 1 entry clause... 😱🙄
winterblue Posted May 26, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted May 26, 2019 She was our exchange student in 2017-18. This trip is a vacation completely separate from that. But...getting "stuck" somewhere is exactly my worry!
