There is an interesting museum and you can walk round the remains of Fort Charlotte. If you fancy a longer walk, you can go to Clickimin Broch, which is in reach of the town. We have called at Akureyri - I think its a nice enough town, but don't remember too much about it as we did the Diamond Circle day trip from here, for stunning waterfalls and scenery. Isafjordur is small and there's not much here for the tourist. This is one port where I'd recommend a tour. Which ever tour you pick, you'll see wildlife and amazing scenery. The only other port we've done on your list is Sydney. I really enjoyed it here. In the morning, we did a tour to to the Fortress of Louisbourg, which is a re-creation of an 18th Century French fortress, and in the afternoon we walked along the excellent boardwalk in Sydney.. (look out for the Big Fiddle) Hope this helps a bit
Rare Turtles06 Posted May 28, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Andy, that's a great itinerary, but you have posted your very broad question in the British Isles forum yet Lerwick is the only British Isles port in your list. If you will take a moment to browse through the Ports of Call forums here on CC, you'll notice that there is a forum that specifically covers Northern Europe (where it would be appropriate to ask about Iceland and Greenland), and one that covers Canada/New England (where it would be appropriate to ask about your Canadian ports). And I think you would find it very helpful, even before posting there, to do a search in those forums for your specific ports, as I know you will find information about each of them there, including mine about Nanortalik, here: Also, Prins Christian Sund is not typically a port of call, but an incredibly spectacular day of scenic cruising (assuming your ship can even enter the Sund). Are you scheduled to call at Aappilattoq if you can get into the Sund? Have a great cruise. Edited May 28, 2019 by Turtles06

In Halifax, the most popular tour is probably Peggy's Cove, close to the city (half-day tour), or Lunenburg that's much further (full-day tour). If you want an easy DIY day in Halifax, there's plenty to see and do within walking distance. The cruise terminal is downtown. If you're a good walker and it's a nice day, I wouldn't bother with a HOHO bus. The main things worth seeing are relatively close together.
