Technical Help, Please!!!

Can anyone tell me why the link to the last set of photos in my signature is coming up as text rather than a link? It worked fine until three or four weeks ago, and then it just stoppped. I'm reasonably computer savvy, but I can't figure it out. I even tried wiping it out all together when I added the Paradise link tonight, but that didn't help either. Anyone out there see something wrong with the way it's written????????

Wow! You're fast! Thanks for your input. I thought the same thing too, but all of the others that are working correctly are of the same format. The only difference between this text and the other links (that are working) is that the URL for this one ends in .htm while the others don't have an extension. The thing that *really* confuses me is that it WORKED previously, and I didn't change ANYTHING but it suddenly stopped working. If you pull up my recent posts and open an earlier one (I pulled on from January), the link is still intact on those old posts. Grrrrrrrr..

 

Thanks for your efforts. Maybe someone will spot what's wrong with it.

I notice those pictures are posted on a different host site than your other pictures on "Webshots"

 

Go to the host site.....and read their specs (FAQ).

There are some sites that won't allow you to link to pictures on their site. It's a Bandwidth issue, for their free service.

 

I know geocities stopped allowing people to link to pictures unless you pay a fee for an upgrade to a higher lever of service.

Thanks, voyagerfl. I checked the FAQs and saw nothing about linking restrictions. Since my links from a few months ago still work for that site, and I don't think they would if it was a host-imposed issue. I appreciate your help.

 

The problem seemed to happen about the time that CC was doing that upgrade, although I can't be sure. I guess I'm just going to have to get used to it.

check in your signature the line ABOVE the one you are having problems with and see if the closing bracket is there at the end. If teh closing bracket is not there after the [/url then it may treat the next line as part of the url label.

OK.....here's something to try.....

I think the "Apostrophe" in the title of the page could be causing the problem.

(I'm probably wrong)

Although the page deplays on their server, I've never seen any web site name that normally accepts anything but dashes and Hypen's and slashes.

 

Try editing the name of your webpage and removing the Apostrophe.
