CHANIA (SOUDA),CRETE, GREECE Shore Excursion Ideas

Looking for shore excursion ideas for Crete, recommendations, advice, etc.  Anything would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Chania (old town) itself is a lovely ancient town to just wander around, many photo ops. Unless you have been before maybe just take the port shuttle there which is what we did for a relaxing day having visited many parts of Greece before. Crete is an extremely large island and many of its main features are a long way away from Souda.
