Arwenmark Posted January 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2006 after you get them from the airport lock them. If they have a problem when Xraying your bags they will call you to open them.

Krazy Kruizers Posted January 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2006 We use the TSA locks for flying and leave them on for pier check-in.
springtxbill Posted January 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2006 The cruiselines actually recommend that you have the bags locked.:)
Cotton Posted January 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2006 Yes, Carnival (for instance) says to make sure your luggage is locked before handing it over to the porters at the pier, as well as when leaving in the hall for debarkation.
seastar2 Posted January 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2006 I use the plastic wire ties..get bright colors and put two different ones one each zipper that you want sealed on the bags....TSA can cut off if they want to check bag... I then keep an old nail clipper with exta ties in an outside pocket(unzip locked) of the bag in case I need to open. On the my last cruise the staff member that brought the bags to the cabin asked if I wanted the ties removed, he had clippers in his pocket. Guess people must ask them to do open or go looking for scissors.
TrentS Posted January 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2006 LOCKED... And it's also especially important to make sure you have them locked when you leave them outside of your cabin the night before disembarkation - People have had things go missing then.
