Maldives Stopover

We have a cruise booked on the Victoria that stops in Male for 2 nights. We arrive at 07:00 the first day and depart at 13:00 on the third day, so 2 1/2 days and 2 nights.

We are considering disembarking and spending the 2 nights on one of the inhabited islands at a guest house/hotel. I have not seen anything that would preclude this.

Any insights or suggestions? Any idea what last tender time would be on the last day?

Has anybody done something similar? Could you comment on your experience?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

If its the Costa Victoria cruise from Venice on October 12th, then there is a small roll call group here

if you would like to join? Others there may be considering the same as you for a stay in the Maldives.

Spoke to a representative at Costa and was advised that yes, we are able to leave the ship for the 2 nights. We must advise the disembarkation staff when we leave and they are supposed to advise us of what the final re-boarding time will be. As Male is a tender port I assume this will be the last tender time or something a little earlier.

Take the latest available Daily Program, this will give you the name, address and telephone number of Costa's local agent in Male, just in case.

If you want a last sundowner in Male, try the Seagull Restaurant in middle of Male:

Good idea about the local agent. Thanks.

Our ship departs at 13:00 so no sundowner for us on that day. We'll just have to have it on ship!

Then change it to a sunupper.🍹
