ashleyhaugh Posted July 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2019 Talk to me about cell service on a Canada/New England cruise. We've only done one cruise, a Caribbean, and obviously there was no cell signal on board. I'm not sure if it would be better on a cruise that stays along the coast. I don't really mind not having signal, I like the chance to be (forced to be, because I have no will power, lol) unplugged for a while. But my son will be 12 and a half this time, and I'm expecting him to want to be off on his own (or hopefully make some friends) for some of the time, and I'd like to be able to get in touch with him when needed. I don't want to pay for the internet plan, because, like I said, I want to be unplugged for the most part. Is there an app or something (RCCL Grandeur of the Seas) we can use for texting on board? We don't have iPhones. Thanks!
Nitemare Posted July 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2019 (edited) The ship is generally too far from land to catch a cell signal. You can check on your ship's board here at CC as to on-board contact advice. Edited July 8, 2019 by Nitemare
