Evening Entertainment & Tours

Will be on the Far East Discovery Tour in September which I am looking forward to.  Will be making dinner reservations soon and wondering what time any evening entertainment usually starts.  Also interested in any comments on ships tours, which ones are worth doing and which ones to avoid.  Thanks

I've only been on 2 VO cruises but the evening theater entertainment starts around 9:00. On occasion, there are other presentations in other venues.  Music, of some sort can be found throughout the ship by house musicians.

The production shows start at 9:15 and run to 10 pm. Usually in the Star Theatre but sometimes at the pool. Sometimes they are local guests (like the opera show in Rome and the flamenco show in Barcelona--both good) and sometimes they are the Viking staff entertainers.

 

There other other evening programs as well on some nights. Movies under the stars and Metropolitan Opera under the stars (La Boheme unless they have gotten rights to an additional opera). Plus there is live music in the Atrium and the Explorer's Lounge from 4pm onwards - 3 acts rotate from venue to venue. Disco and dance in Torshavn.

It would be great on Jupiter's South America cruises to have local Tango dancers perform.  🙂
