Lower Danube river cruise

I am planning a lower Danube cruise between Budapest Bucharest next year. Two questions:- Which direction of travel is best and is June a good month? Thanks

We did this from Bucharest to Budapest (and on to Amsterdam) in July a few years ago and it was wonderful.

Thanks for that Paul. As the Danube flows towards Bucharest did you find that the ships engines were a bit noisier sailing against the flow?

You might get more answers by posting this on the River Cruise Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/115-river-cruising/  I will add that my brother and sister-in-law just did the Budapest to Bucharest cruise on Uniworld this June.  They enjoyed starting in Budapest (staying a few days extra) and then an extra day in Bucharest.  The river was high this year (going with the current made it easier I'm sure) and the temperatures were still a little chilly but of course that can change year to year.
