Getting mixed feeling about snorkeling in Aruba

We arrive at port 9am -9pm. What is best recommendations to do while we are there ? Snorkeling ? Shopping? We are not the best at snorkeling, and prefer not to be in real deep waters. Any suggestions for the best excursion for snorkeling with a beach ? Or is it best to pass on this and do something else?

We took a public transit bus up to Boca Catalina and went in from the beach.  Snorkelling was ok, but not as good as other ports on our cruise.  Many of the snorkel excursion boats were anchored just outside of the area we were in.

We were in Aruba in April and found that the snorkeling was not nearly as good as in the past.  There was some brown stuff in the water that reduced visibility.  We're stopping again in October so we'll see if it is any better at Boca Catalina/Catalina Cove this time.

Thank you mcmarya… instead of snorkeling.. I saw good reviews on taking the ATV tour with a natural pool area

Agree, it was pretty brown in March.

We'll be back in October and will see if this is a permanent change for the worse.  In the past we have had great snorkeling at Boca Catalina but were disappointed in April.

If Curacao is on the itinerary, the snorkeling is very good there.
