Rare Lady Arwen Posted August 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2019 Just booked Enchanted Princess Trans-Atlantic for April 2021....Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona. We just couldn't believe how inexpensive this cruise is! We've been watching prices go higher and higher these past few months and we were shocked (in a good way) at the price. We really loved our cruises on Royal and Regal, so I'm sure this will be just as wonderful. However, this is our first TA!! We don't know what to expect! We've sailed Europe and The Med a few times, but I know this will be an entirely different experience. We're thinking of it as a new adventure and we're really very excited. If anyone has any tips or advice on first TA cruisers, it would be appreciated. Hopefully, there will be things to do during the sea days to keep us occupied. We love to sit and read a book while watching the ocean, but it would be nice to have some fun things to do, too. What's your experience with using Princess Air for these flights? Booking direct with the airline is very, very expensive (more than the price of the cruise) so we're hoping that Princess will be offering deals on the air. Would love to get your feedback! LongToSeeTheSea Posted August 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2019 Biggest drawback on the eastbound TA’s, I think, is the daily one-hour time change on the six initial sea days...losing one hour everyday. It takes its toll by the time you get across the Atlantic. But TA’s are great! Like you said, there is usually great pricing on these itineraries. Plenty to do on sea days...or nothing if you prefer. There is usually good pricing with EZAir...better than booking direct. Plus you get the flexibility of continually checking for lower prices and making changes up till you make final payment for the cruise. There is usually good pricing on Business Class flights home...certainly better than booking direct.

We can't do a TA in the fall for a number of reasons, so we know we'll just have to live with losing time. We've been checking lots of TAs and for some reason this one is the least expensive and for a new ship, quite unusual. Our Princess Cruise Planner knows to keep an eye on promos and discounts for us, but we usually are on top of this ourselves.
