CruiseyMcBoatFace Posted August 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Hi, all. I'm visiting in October and would love to snorkel with my mother, but she's not able to get in and out of the water on a boat ladder. Wondering if there are beaches that have good walk-in/walk-out access to snorkeling sites. Thanks.
lifes-a-beach Posted August 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Cemetery beach. Take a cab or the bus. Absolutely zero facilities. No restroom. No food. No drinks. Just very good snorkeling. The reef is a short swim out. There is plenty of shade. Take water.
cyntil8ing Posted August 29, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) While we were there on a boat, there were shore snorkelers at the Wreck of the Cali. We also went to Cheeseburger Reef, which was further out from shore, but still accessible with a bit of a swim. Eden Rock has stairs to the water, so I would imagine it would be as difficult as a boat ladder. Edited August 29, 2019 by cyntil8ing
Capt_BJ Posted August 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) Smith's Cove away from town so seldom a crowd a few picnic tables, plenty of shade trees, a simple bath house and rest rooms. No rentals or food bring your own water ... and snorkel gear; occasionally a drive by ice cream guy! If wind/seas are out of the west it is probably NOT a good place ... this is most common in the late winter & spring ... same conditions that can make tendering difficult popular beach for folks staying at Sunset House Edited August 29, 2019 by Capt_BJ
