iancal Posted January 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2006 We are on the 2/4 Sun. There will be 5 cruise ships arriving in MIA on the morning of the 11th. Will cabs be difficult to get or should we just take the NCL transfer? We have a 1:55 flight. My usual preference is to cab it but we have never sailed from Miami. Thanks for the assistance. Tinkerbell Posted January 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2006 We just got off the Sun and had no problem with cabs this week. We got a cab within minutes at the airport. And when we were leaving we did express debark. and went down about 8:00 am and got a cab right away and were at the airport by 8:45 and got a 9:15 flight out. Our original flight was for 1:05. It was the same price for a cab as for 2 people for a shuttle.
TrentS Posted January 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Cabs will be no problem, and are much easier, quicker, and usually cheaper than taking the cruise line busses... It's normally about 20 minutes from the Port of Miami to MIA.
SHINEMAN Posted January 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2006 One of the few disappointments we've had with NCL has been the pier to airport bus transfer. We only ended up there twice, but the experience was the same, no buses and scenes reminiscent of the evacuation of Saigon. No order, winner take all rush when a bus did arrive, etc. The NCL staff did nothing to attempt to organize the situation. Once they blamed it on the highway being blocked off due to a Vice-Presidential visit and the other time to jammed highway. As a result cabs were tough to get and if the facts were as NCL stated one wonders if they could have made it any faster. I guess the moral is hope for a later plane departure time to save your nerves.
