Cheriesellshomes Posted January 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2006 I live in Atlanta and am looking for a place to have a swimsuit made for me, or at least a place that sells good bikini tops and bottoms separately. I am going on the Voyager in just under three weeks and I really want to be comfortable in my swimsuit while snorkeling etc. I hope someone can give me a suggestion. Last year I found a suit that was a bra size (40dd) and that worked ok but I would like something new that does not look like grandma's bathing suit. I'm having a hard time finding anything this early in the year. Any suggestions?
happysinglemom Posted January 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Just one person's opinion, but if I was a 40DD, there is no way I'd risk a bikini while swimming and snorkeling. Laying on the beach - fine, but nothing more. I was a 36C on my cruise, and I wore a tankini for our snorkeling excursions.
Hoyaheel Posted January 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2006 I am quite large on top as well and find that the bikinis at La Redoute (www.laredoute.com) are both sexy AND come in bra top sizes. You can buy tops & bottoms separately, which is nice if you're tinier in one place than the other (when you're a 40DD, you probably are smaller on the bottom:p )
BlueHerons Posted January 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2006 La Plage used to do custom suits but I don't know if they still do and Tara Grinna is the designer. http://www.taragrinna.com/
golfergal Posted January 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2006 This is the company I order my swimsuit separates from this past fall. http://www.exelnt.com/index.php I'm also a 40DD so I certainly understand. The rep she walked me through the styles, sizing, and such. I bought both a tankini and bikini top, so that I could have different coverage for my different needs.
