Helicopter tour in Antigua

I am doing the west Indies cruise in November and am looking to book optional excursions. Has anyone done the helicopter tour in Antigua? Seems pricey at $400 and I am wondering if it is worth the price Thanks

We did the helicopter tour of Montserrat while staying on Antigua several years ago and it was very memorable. We were on a small helicopter with one other couple. The ride from Antigua was beautiful and the views of Montserrat were very sobering. Pilot gave an excellent overview of the devastation and it was really informative.

Looks like the VO is a 45 minute helicopter ride--I think ours was a little longer. Plus you have to get from port to the helicopter sight. This was a couple years ago and I think about $200-250 per person including transfers from our resort. 

It really depends on your interests and if you enjoy helicopter rides. They certainly do not come cheap but they give you a vantage point that is memorable.

You could certainly explore doing a private excursion that includes the helicopter ride--if that is something that is comfortable for you. 

Hopefully those who have done the VO option will weigh in and perhaps advise who the tour operator is.

What is the travel time from port to the take off point?

Thanks for your input. I am sure the Viking price is more but it is my understanding they get you to and from the helicopter. I just don’t know if it is worth $400 but it is a once in a lifetime adventure
