So how does it feel to be home. You were one of those punks that took my spot on the ship. Now you have to go through the same feeling I did knowing that other people are eating your food and sleeping in your bed.:D This is a joke.

Seriously though, I hope you had a great time. She is a great ship.

The ship leaves Kauai at 5:00 and Maui at 3:00. What are they thinking? Why not have the formal night when the ship leaves much earlier? Or at least make Kauai informal to break up the string of casual nights. In fact, that would give a more traditional 3 formal, 4 informal and 7 casual nights for a 14-night cruise.

I know my wife is going to complain about coming back from shore and having to rush for a formal main seating.

Eric,

I may have taken your spot, but now someone else has mine. (insert here a scream of anguish)

Being home isn't so bad, it's the going back to work that kills.

My DH retired in December so he is really enjoying being home after a long trip.

I need to plan another cruise so I have something to look forward too.

Rocky Mountain Gal,

How did you like the cruise? We were a little disappointed in the activities on the sea days. I never saw that Pearl Kaufman gave an afternoon recital or did I miss it? The entertainment was the best I ever saw on a cruise but a few afternoon shows would have been nice. They did that when we did our first Hawaii to Vancouver in 2002.

We died laughing when we saw that Ping, the dulcimer guy was on this cruise. He had the same speech and the same songs from 2003 when we saw him on our Alaska cruise. The production shows were well done but too much Broadway. Some 50's & 60's would have been good for us but it was not for that crowd.

Overall, we enjoyed it of course and found the sea days really relaxing. It helped that I won some money in the casino too.

We really enjoyed the cruise as well. Pearl Kaufman did do an afternoon show as well -- unfortunately, we had to miss it. It seemed like everything we wanted to do during the day was at the same time. We really enjoy listening to the art auctions (free champagne) and they always put them head to head with the wine tastings (almost free wine). Tough to choose.

Your story about Ping brought back great memories. On our first celebrity cruise, one of the entertainers was one of the original Letterman -- Mark Preston maybe? Anyway, our second Celebrity cruise, there he was again. On the third Celebrity cruise, no Mark Preston, but we had his wife, who was also a singer. It got to be rather comical by the third trip.

I am glad someone won something in the casino. I wish I could say the same. I am a sucker for the Wheel of Fortune machine, and I have never done very well with it. There is just something about the free spin that gets me every time.

What shore excursions did you do? A couple of ours were fantastic -- the Zodiac Raft in Kona and the Arizona Memorial and City Tour in Honolulu. The Volcanoes National Park Tour in Hilo and the Kauai Movie Tour did not live up to our expectations, although they were still very good. I think it was due more to the guides then anything else. Whale watching in Maui was awesome -- the whales were everywhere.

Take care, Kathy
