Advice on what to do in Costa Maya

Hi -

I'm going on a Panama Canal cruise for my honeymoon in March -- and one of the stops is Costa Maya. Was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what to do, where to shop, etc? (I enjoy spending an hour or 2 on the beach - but I burn easily so I wouldn't want to stay there all day.)

We went to the little fishing village of Majahual where we met David and Ivan and went on a tour with David up to the Mayan ruins. http://www.chacchobenruins.com/ When we returned, we spent the rest of the day at the beach in Majahual. We did the Mayan tour with David and Ivan....not to be missed. Great day and very informative. Great value.

Sheffie - where are you sitting??? Cats Meow, Tapas??? How was the food?? We aren't looking for an excursion at this port - just a place to park ourselves where the kids can play and we can relax.
