Traveling Solo Hotel help

I will be arriving in San Juan very late on a Saturday for a Sunday cruise.  I am would like a safe hotel close to the airport.  Should I hire a car or is a taxi safe enough.  I usually use Hilton or Marriott and prefer those hotels.  Any recommendations, especially from women traveling solo.

The Embassy Suites and Casino is close to the airport. It was recently renovated due to the 2017 hurricane. We found the hotel safe and clean.

It has an Outback Steakhouse which was fantastic and was only three blocks from a Walgreens, grocery store and wine store.

We are staying at the Hilton Caribe next month.

Embassy Suites for Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde for Marriott stays. Both are about 5 minutes from the airport. You'd need to take a taxi from the airport to the hotels when you arrive but you can opt for taxi or Uber for your ride to port the next morning.

Any idea how much the taxi will be from the Embassy Suites to the Pan American Port?
