greg2014 Posted October 17, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2019 The main currency on Costa ships is usually euro. Sometimes (for example from Florida and in the past for selected Asia cruises) it could be US dollar. The best way to check it before cruise is to log in mycosta.com website (https://www.mycosta.com/login.html) using your data and booking number. If you see prices in EUR it means that onboard currency is EUR, if USD - it will be USD.
tenpin Posted October 17, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2019 Every one of our Caribbean cruises (17) the dollar has been the currency on board. I must admit though our last Caribbean cruise was in 2009, so it may well have changed.
greg2014 Posted October 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2019 I did 3 Carribean cruises with Costa. Only one (2017) from Florida had US dollar as onboard currency. Two (from Guadeloupe and Martinique) had euro. I think Costa is trying to force euro as much as possible. In Asia and Middle East few years ago, onboard currency was only US dollar but in Jan 2019 (Costa Fortuna) it was euro. Also for my next cruise in Mar 2020 (Costa Diadema) I see euro as onboard currency.
