Vancouver-downtown or airport

We fly into Vancouver around 10 PM the night before our cruise. Since they have free shuttles and reasonable prices, we thought we would stay at an airport hotel and take a taxi to the port (Princess) the next day. Is this a good or bad idea?

Good idea since the airport hotels can be significantly cheaper. At 10pm or later, you aren't going to be in for any Vancouver touring. :) Take a cab the next day to the dock.

Yesterday we got reservations for the Westin Bayshore Vancouver for $62 a night on Priceline. It seems to be about a mile to the cruise ship dock (Canada Place)

 

It would be a beautiful place to wake up in :D
