Norwegian App for on board

I've seen on the boards that there is an app that cost $9.99 that each phone would have to have to be able to contact each other while on board.  Can someone get me some additional information?  Does it get purchased after boarding??

Yes. Once connected to the ship's wifi it will show up as an option in the regular Ncl app.

Yes, $9.99 for each phone.  Your best bet is to download it in advance, then as soon as you're on the boat, turn airplane mode on and then turn wifi on.  Open the app and it should give you the choice to pay for the service.  It's great for families that need to keep track of each other but I doubt that my wife and I will be using it for calling when we cruise this Dec (without the kids).

 

The app still works for some things if you don't pay the $9.99... I just don't think you can call each other.
