port canaveral gambling cruise

Recommended Posts

We are cruising on RCCL 3/20/06 and will be in cocoa beach for 2 days before sailing. Someone said that there is a gambling cruise ship that goes out to sea twice a day from port caneval. Has anyone been on it...If so is it worth the trip?

There are 2 casino ships which leave from Port Canaveral, Sun Cruz and Sterling. I have been on both and would recommend Sterling over Sun Cruz. We have gone several times, and while the food is nothing to rave about, we had a good time. Both times we went, it was very busy and we had to stake out our Black Jack seats as soon as we boarded the ship.

Definitely Sterling over Suncruz.. we've been several times and as other poster reported..foodnothing to brag about but it's free and the ship is clean..nice variety of slots and tables...always some sort of entertainment onthe upper deck also..

Was on Sterling in June. I agree. It's a boat ride, free food, they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel.Cocoa Beach Hilton and the Hilton gave us a coupon for $ 5.00 in coins. There was also a DJ in the lounge and a steel band out on one of the decks,

Yep I too agree that Sterling is definitely better over SunCruz.....and stake out your blackjack table as soon as you get on. I go because its free, we make it a girls night out every now and then and just have fun. We don't go to win....just to have fun! :D

I gotta go with Sun Cruz, her's why: they have 2 bands (real bands not reggie steel drummers), everywhere on the ship you can see out while playing, you can walk all around the outside, not just stuck in the back, they have a real sports book (a blast during football/basketball season), they have an outdoor bar on the back of the ship, I think the slots & video poker are much loser, they have cash back, good hot food all you can eat ($5 or free if you go alot), they get out and back a litte before Sterling (big deal if you want out of PC quick), where they dock is PC party ground zero if you want to stay awhile, the employees love working there with very little turnover, I know bartenders & dealers that have been there since they started 10 years ago, it's for serious gambling, Serling is packed, really, really packed right now with people who just want a free cruse some free cold rolls w/meat (the joke is they are cold so you can catch one) and these folks play $2 total in nichols, they put one in every once in awhile to snag a free drink, but I guess most important is seeing that BIG AMERICAN FLAG waving on the back of the ship. It's the only US flagged pax ship at PC.
