Latest Time To Board

Hello - have never had to worry about this before, but what is the latest you are allowed to board the ship before leaving? I only ask because Northwest notified me yesterday that our flight has been backed up a half hour which puts us in FLL at 1:30 - that I know is plenty of time, but I saw today that that particular flight is only 30% on time! I suppose I am concerned that they will change the times again and then might not make it at all! Chose NWA this time out of Indy since Delta more than doubled their prices since Sept. 05. I know also that we should have gone in the day before, but that is Easter and the prices were higher and needed to do some family time.

It is usually at least 30 minutes prior to sailing.

When we sailed the Dawn Princess out of San Juan, we boarded after the lifeboat drill. At least there was no line!

Last year in San Juan we had friends board 1/2 hour before sailing due to their flight in from Ca.

If it's a matter of not having to lug your luggage around, you may be able to check them in, and then go run your last minute errands (liquor runs). I guess it depends on the port and cruiselines.

Very short cab ride to the pier from FLL but you are cutting it awfully close if you encounter any further delays. :)

Be sure to have all the proper coverage with your travel insurance. I would be very nervous if it were me - but I'm usually onboard very early, unpacked and had lunch prior to sailaway.
