TeacherMafia Posted December 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2019 Has anyone taken a puddle jumper or ferry to Ambergris Caye while in port in Belize? If so, is it worth it? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Rare crewsweeper Posted December 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2019 Water taxi is long (90 minutes taxi ride each way, plus 40 minutes RT for tender to ship). Stops at Caye Caulker before San Pedro. Then again before back to Belize City. But times are not frequent. You may have to catch the 11:30A back, depending on ship time for last tender from tender pier). Reasonable price ($38 RT). There are hourly flights to and from San Pedro to Belize City (15 minute flight). More expensive (around $70 each way but early flight are cheaper) plus a 20 minute taxi ride both directions. So say an hour 1/2 total travel time from stepping on the ship's tender. And an hour and a half return. But you have more time on Ambergris Caye. You need to make sure that you pick the correct flight for return as your ship time and Belize time may be different.
