kazwaz Posted February 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2006 Hi, We have booked on the Voyager Med Cruise departing 12th August. We recieved a notification of a revised itinerary changing a couple of the ports. I'm not bothered about the port changes but I thought I should mention something in case anyone else on this board is also booked on that cruise. They have changed the port Palermo on 15th August to Naples because of "the tour service...will be limited". I don't think RCL have realised why. 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption; a public holiday in Italy when everything closes. I've just spoken to the Italian Tourist Board in the UK who confirmed that even the sites e.g Pompeii and Herculaneum are closed! I also spoke to RCL in the UK and told them. Don't know if it will make any difference. But I thought I should pass on the info, just in case! If anyone else is booked, you might want to contact RCL to find out what excursions they have planned for that day!
