kwoo` Posted December 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2019 Is acarseat or booster required? I have found the laws for privatecars, and yes it is by law in Puerto Rico. But I'm reading mixed answers on taxis, but nothing from an official source. Anyone done this recently? We won't have a booster with us. A 10 minute taxi ride on this one shore excursion is the only time we need to figure out the whole cruise. She is 5, and uses a full car seat at home, but PR law says a booster is fine. I want to just take her with no booster, but wondeing if taxi drivers will allow or not. Anyone?
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted December 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) It's a $12 booster which will do its best to save your child's life in an accident. You should bring one with you. The laws of physics don't take vacations and they don't care whether you are in a taxi or a regular car at home. This is how we have traveled with ours since DS was 4. He was harnessed at home till almost 7, but he was mature enough to use a booster for short trips when traveling. flippergirl Posted December 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2019 You can also get a whizrider or ride safer travel vest or a bubble bum. All of these are quite compact for travel.
