HELP on clothing for Mexican Riviera!!

Recommended Posts

 HELP! We're first-timers and are having troubles figuring out what to pack to wear. We know about the formal and smart casual dress. Also about when we're off the ship. What about on the ship? Are shorts and thongs allowed in the dining NOT at night? On casual nights, is it ok for shorts or jeans or capris? What about the different lounges/casino and shows? HOW CASUAL can we be? Lastly, how cool does it get on-board during the day and at night? I'm someone who's always cold with air-conditioning.:D

THANKS!!!!!!!

bring a light Jacket!!! It gets cool the 1st and last days at sea. I also brought long pants and used them alot. The weather is warm but evenings get cool. The last day the seas were rough and it was cold, nobody on the sun deck or in the pool. I thought it was funny that they were doing ice cream sundaes on the pool deck then! I did enjoy one sitting under cover and in a coat! Have a great trip I will say we loved our cruise to the Mexican Riviera.

the only time i wore shorts/skirts was in mazatlan and puerto vallarta. the rest of the time i wore long pants and i needed a light jacket/sweater in the evenings. the pacific is cooler and windier. (lots of people wore white pants if that helps at all)

When are you going? It will be nice to hot hot hot. We live in the greater Los Angeles area. We are having great weather. 70's. We are doing the Vision on 2/26/06. I am planning light clothing. T's, shorts, light weight pants, summer dresses for evening. If you are going later in the year it will be warmer and hotter.

Last year on Vision we went March 30th or so and it was cool in Ca. and first day at sea was windy but warm, last day at sea was sweater weather. The Mexican ports were all Hot Hot hot...we had a blast on this cruise and I am sure you will too..No shorts in dinning room BTW at dinner and lunch is a little bit more dressy than windjammer. In windjammer you must have a cover up over your bathing suit and shoes.

We were on the 1/22 sailing of the Vision of the Seas - The weather can be quite variable - bring a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt in addition to shorts and tees. - Also the cathedrals in Matzalan and Puerto Vallarta do not allow shorts or bare shoulders - if either of these is on your agenda - pack appropriately -

The weather in Matzalan and Puerto Vallarta was warm - Cabo was a bit chilly -

the two sea days on the way back were raw.

Thanks so much! We're going on 2/19. I'm figuring on shorts/jeans at the ports for horseback riding and the canopy. On the ship a mix. I'll take some short-sleeve/sleeveless and long-sleeve shirts that I can where with my capris. I have some skirts/dresses also for dinner. Not sure how often we'll eat in the main dining since I'm with teenage girls who want casual-except for 1 formal/1 semi night!:p

WE went in Sept. and it was HOT HOT HOT!!! Cooler out of Los Angeles, but once you pass the tip of Baja, it gets very humid....even at night. It was hot and sticky in P.V. and Mazatlan, and just hot and dry in Cabo. Then as you get closer to Los Angeles, it cools down again. But that depends on when you are going. I live in Los Angeles, so I can tell you what the whether might be like when you leave. Today it was sunny and in the 60's inland, but very foggy by the beach all morning and into the afternoon. It will be somewhat cool in and out of L.A., but like I said once you get down to tip of Baja, it will be quite warm.
