Rare Solent Richard Posted January 29, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2020 While there certainly doesn't appear to be much direct reporting on here from Queen Victoria's South American 'Discovery' voyage the word over on a number of fb groups is that a wonderful time is being had by all. It would appear Cunard are pulling out a number of stops for this unique voyage including issuing a commemorative pin badge... ...and organising a 'Special' event in Buenos Aires for those doing the full 78 days... Burns Night was also celebrated in considerable style... As I type Queen Victoria is just entering the Amazon River heading up to Manaus. I'll keep y'all posted as more reports come in.
Rare Solent Richard Posted February 7, 2020 Author #2 Share Posted February 7, 2020 Cunard certainly pushing the boat out on Queen Victoria's South American circumnavigation... This was the 'Grand Voyage Party' held last evening in the Queens Room for those on the full trip.
Rare Solent Richard Posted February 17, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) By all accounts the 'Gala' event in Buenos Aires... ...was a great success... ...and included not just an amazing meal but a Tango Dance Show and a Horse Riding Display... Queen Victoria is currently heading to Puerto Madryn... ...where friends on board will be acquainting themselves with the landing sites of the early Welsh settlers. Rare Solent Richard Posted February 17, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Meanwhile Queen Victoria's next port of call after Puerto Madryn will be Ushuaia. For those onboard who may be looking in to this section of Cruise Critic here's a preview of what to expect... https://solentrichardscruiseblog.com/2013/12/30/one-way-to-do-ushuaia/

chineplate Posted February 18, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Great day out at the welsh village. Heritage, history, culture and a particularly good choir. Very welcoming and friendly people who are rightly proud of there community.
