ive recently been watching the weather for san juan and noticed rain has been predicted every day for almost a month now, although the actual amount of precipitation is quite low. Were leaving in a few weeks and staying in san juan a few days before our cruise. does anyone know? is the weather bad down there or is there a light rain in the afternoon like some other places. if this is what san juan looks like what about the rest of this region? good weathers a must so if anyone knows please let me know! im beginning to get so worried!!! :/

you will find that most islands in the caribbean get some rain each day...a couple of clouds roll in....a quick rain and the sun returns....sometimes it depends on which side of the island you are on. On the island of Dominica, as an example, one of the slopes of the largest mountain gets huge amounts of rain.

do not be concerned by the forecasts you read.....

We just got back from our cruise out of San Juan. There was an unusual amount of heavy trade winds which made our travels a little rough for a couple of days on the Golden. The rain in San Juan was extremely brief on both days that I was there. It would cloud up and rain for a few minutes and then the sun was out.

This is the "dry" season for the Caribbean. That being said, it often rains for brief periods, especially early in the morning or late afternoon. Just wait 20-30 minutes and it will pass and be sunny again. On our recent Golden cruise we had a total of 90 minutes of rain for the week and that was spread out over several ports. On St. Thomas we had heavy rain at the beach for 30 minutes but were swimming so didn't care! People on the other side of the island reported no rain. Don't stress about weather forecasts.

Agree with everyone else - tropical forecasts don't mean much (except hurricanes...). Lots of places get rain every day usually for 15 minutes at a time. Ignore it or step inside for a drink!
