Transport from Donali to Whittier

We had wanted to take the train back from Donali but it does not leave until 12:30 and arrives in Anchorage until 8:00 pm.  Is there a quicker way to get to Whittier or at least a quicker way to Anchorage?

I assume you're getting TO Denali by train? 

 

The most efficient way to travel is via car so you have complete control over your schedule, but if you prefer to travel by train, I'd suggest the Park Connection Bus for the Denali - Anc - Whittier portion. 

The bus leaves Denali around  7am and arrives at the Anchorage Museum around 1:30.  Their bus to Whittier leaves at 3pm also from the Museum.

The company also sells pkg tours by train and/or bus, so you might want to talk to them about a pkg.

I agree with mapleleaves, if you use a rental car to get to/from Denali National Park, then you control your schedule. Otherwise, if you use the train, it's a two day process. Day 1 in the afternoon you go from Denali to Anchorage, and then on the morning of Day 2 you go from Anchorage to Whittier.
