EARLY SAVER & OBC QUESTION

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Disembarked on Saturday morning (March 7, 2020).  On the way home we booked two cabins on the Carnival Glory out of NOLA in May 2021.  The rate we paid came out to $1518 for 2 people without taxes, fees, port expenses.  It also came with a $50 OBC.  These amounts are identical for the two cabin bookings.

Then today, 2 days later on March 9th, 2020 there was HOT STREAK BONUS OFFER available.  The rate was cheaper by about $31.00.  The offer also had the Free Drinks on Us while playing in the casino and $500 OBC to use anywhere on ship.

My question is, after filling out the low price guarantee form (within 2 days of booking) and the early saver form.... what are my chances of getting all of these new perks?

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

Beware of price matching if you get the new price.  You will then be booked under a casino offer, no longer early saver rate.  The rules are different.  If you price match to an offer that does not include the $500 OBC you will lose that.  We are booked under the same casino offer and are being careful about price matching.  $500 OBC is a lot of money to lose.  Even with 4 of us that is still $125 each.

Soooooooo If I currently have a $200 obc because I carry a Carnival Mastercard, and I complete a price reduction form for $30.00 they will take my $200.00 and reduce my balance by $30?  If so, with all of this craziness will they do it automatically or will they call and say, "hey you may want to re-think this?"

If you are not sure if it's a better offer, when taking into account OBC, you can call and ask.  You'll get all the details, and then you can decide whether or not to switch to the new rate. They can then switch you to the new rate over the phone, no form required.

Was the OBC part of the booking rate  or is it from the Carnival CC?  If it is from the booking rate then you could lose it.  If it is from the CC you probably won't lose it.  If you do rate matching I would call Carnival rather than using the form.  You can find out if matching to the lower rate will cause you to lose the OBC.  The forms are much more convenient but aren't always the best way to get the price reduction.

I understand.  If we have 2 cabins at $500 each, that is $1000.  Probably not going to be price matching much afterwards for that.  Thank you for the reply :)

Thank you, everyone.  I received two emails for the 2 bookings.  Both e-mails said I was approved for the new rate/OBC.  One booking has the new rate and OBC showing.  The other doesn't so I am working now to get that one changed as well.  I appreciate the good and honest feedback.
