greydog Posted February 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Word is leaking out on expected features of the new mega-mega ship. You are encouraged to share the rumors on features you hear also. Suites will offer adjustable rate financing to afford Staff an entire developing country will be hired. Consequently, this country will be closed except during future drydock periods. Oxygen supplemental oxygen dispensers to mitigate 'altitude sickness' on uppermost decks at $.50/min (with auto 15% gratuity) Verandas categories will multiply from 2C to overhanging 48DD Also, in response to interest expressed on cruise message boards, cabins outfitted for kite-flying and fishing/trolling are available. And, like driving school autos with two steering wheels, some cabins will have a replica 'ship's wheel' to enable "I want to steer the ship" fantasies. Casino the ULTIMATE in service and convenience: liveried croupiers will arrive AT YOUR CABIN and will remove $$ directly from your wallet, saving you time and effort BINGO Again, to expedite serving the masses, you'll pay $30 per card, then turn it over to scratch-off with a coin to see if you are an instant winner. SAFETY auto seat-belt-like harnesses will be fitted to each veranda and will close their straps over you automatically when you enter onto the veranda. It was either this feature or making all lifeboat covers be a deep-red color shade. Lido buffet new ULTIMATE quick serve to accomodate masses: A child's merry-go-round like spinning table will dispense (well sling actually) servings onto specially designed 'catch' trays. Private Island in scale with the mega-mega ship, the country whose population was hired as staff is being rented as exclusive RCL port. RCL has future options on the rental of a 'private continent' for their future reeaally-big ship. Well, with a feature line up like this, NOW how do all the mega-mega-ship naysayers feel??:D

RodPat Posted February 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Thanks for the funny thread. I was beginning to think I might be the only person to think this ship is way too big. You would have to take me on this kicking and screaming. Pat
Cam6959 Posted February 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2006 SuperJerry I heard they have the elevtors that also go sideways taking you not only up and down but front to back and side to side. Wouldn't that constitute a somewhat roller coaster? D
JNLROSE Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I heard there was going to be a tram to get you back & forth from bow to stern! There would be several stations along the way for getting on & off. :p

superjerryw Posted February 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Mine isn't a joke. I want to see verandas on the promenade rooms. Not likely, as this would make it impossible to seal off the promenade in the event of a fire.

tuggers Posted February 7, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I'm not so sure it's so much an 'I want to steer the ship' thing as it's an 'I want to tell people where to go' fantasy!!:D

dlhamlten Posted February 7, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I hear that Royal Caribbean is going to buy United Airlines after they go bankrupt for the third time. They will use the planes to land passengers on the top deck of the new ship. They will issue Boarding Passes and Sea Cards for charging drinks on the plane and/or ship and flight time will be used to process immigration documents. This will save time since once you pass thru Security at the Airport you will never have to handle your luggage again or go thru additional Security. Cabins now available will include : Inside Outside Balcony Runway Finally, Special Offer for Inaugural Cruise : 5,000 Frequent Flier/ Cruiser Miles - but only to the first 5,499 who sign up ! zackiedawg Posted February 7, 2006 #14 Share Posted February 7, 2006 More rumors leaking out!: Photos – with 5500 people to cover, the ship would have to hire too many photographers, so the ship’s security system will be upgraded to include 10MP digital cameras replacing all standard security cameras throughout the ship. A microchip in your room key will send a signal to a security cam as you approach, which will then take a picture of you when you reach the imbedded wire. The photos will be printed, sent to your room, and automatically billed to your shipboard account. Dining Room – To accommodate the higher passenger load, dinners will be divided into 8 seatings in two 3-tier dining rooms. First seating will begin at 4pm, and stagger every 2 hours with the last seating at 10pm. Crown Lounge – This ship will have the largest Crown Lounge ever. It had to be moved to deck 10 (of 24 total decks) and located midship, after computer design tests revealed that with the traditional upper deck location, the ship became top-heavy and unstable when the Crown Lounge is full. Rock Climbing – altitude training recommended before undertaking the rock-wall challenge. The rock wall will be a 2-day climb, with a base camp set up at the foot of the wall, and a 2nd hanging camp set up for the overnight bivouac. Johnny Rockets – With the popularity of Johnny Rockets on the Voyager Class ships, the new ship will mark the debut of the largest-ever Johnny Rockets restaurant. An onboard cattle farm and slaughterhouse will be located on crew deck 2 aft to meet the beef demand, with the manure from that operation being recycled as alternative fuel onboard. Tendering – The new vessel will be too large to tender at any port, therefore the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas will be decommissioned and converted for tender use. It will be gutted of cabins, and towed behind the new vessel. Shopping – The ship will have the largest mall afloat; a deal has been struck to open a branch of the Sawgrass Mills mall onboard. There will be over 200 stores on the ship – shopping carts and day-care services will be available for passengers wishing to shop on board. Special Note: Due to the displacement of the new vessel, sea levels in the Caribbean will rise by 10 inches, resulting in the loss of the Cayman Islands and several low-lying Bahamian islands. A deal is being struck with the residents of several islands to buy out their homes and businesses and relocate them to other island nations. greydog Posted February 7, 2006 Author #15 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Onboard Legal Service just like the existing CruiseCare option, pax can prepay for immediate lawsuit filing for compensation when they feel they haven't been treated famously. An optional video link to do remote appearance on Oprah available at extra fee. Judge Judy will hold court in the theater. Tsunami experience every time the mega-ships thrusters are engaged, sensors around the world will signal "tsunami warning' sending folks rushing to high ground. To control the thruster waves in immediate port areas, RCL has gotten a great deal on some second-hand levees from a Southern US port.
DancerOT Posted February 8, 2006 #16 Share Posted February 8, 2006 Did anyone else realize that the ship will be the same size as many colleges? I think several different area codes may be needed. Also TIME ZONES - BOW time, MID-SHIP time, STERN time. All pax will have to simonize their watches. Along coastlines, free-range chickens will go early to roost as the passing mega-ship blocks out the sun temporarily.
