MikeMary4449 Posted December 25, 2020 #28 Share Posted December 25, 2020 FYI: We were booked on the Barcelona to Buenos Aires TA, November, 2020, which we lifted and shifted to November, 2021. At the end of November, 2020, we were advised that this itinerary was being canceled and we had ONE WEEK to pick a totally different itinerary "at prevailing rates" in order to receive a small onboard credit, or else we could request a refund of our original deposit. We chose the refund and are still waiting for it even though the email said we would receive it within 30 days.

Thats a shame MikeMary hope that they pay your refund soon its been something of a recurring theme during these last few frustrating months. On the cruise front I did see they have cancelled this itinerary due to the covid re scheduled. However there is ever chance that it will be back in late 2022 as the ships are all scheduled to be in Europe that summer and will have to again return at the end of that season so fingers crossed we will get the chance to enjoy that route once more because it is excellent Transatlantic to experience. Thank you DavietheScot for your good wishes. We went through this "refund" issue previously this year and it took 90 days to complete. We chose the Barcelona to Buenos Aires TA specifically for the itinerary. We would love to see it offered again late in 2022, but that wasn't an option when the cruise for 2021 was cancelled. We'll keep watching as new cruises are posted in the months ahead.
SailAwayTom Posted July 12, 2021 #31 Share Posted July 12, 2021 Thanks for this we are looking at a similar itinerary for 2023 and this gives us a idea of what to expect never did a Transatlantic before and did wonder about the sea days.

You will love it, sea days are great the ship puts on extra events to keep you as busy as you want or you can simply lie back and relax, glad you liked the review it seems so long ago now but still great memories. Yes Papa we did, we went to Iquazu Falls for a few days after Buenos Aires, we toured the falls on both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides before spending a day in Paraguay just because we could not really much to see there but the falls are themselves are brilliant and we'll worth seeing . Then we flew from there back to Rio where we met the guide I mentioned in the review ( Gus the Guide who comes highly recommended) and with his help over the next few days saw much more of Rio and its surrounding area. We had a truly great time there so much so we are determined to go back once this current situation stabilises and we are able to.

We avoided Brazil in the past because a few years ago they had a terrible visa policy toward USA citizens. That has changed and we would like to go to Brazil, Rio, Sao Paulo and perhaps the Amazon basis.
