Alaska Land/Sea Options

When looking to book an Alaskan Land/Sea Tour, I see the same “Cruise” has two options as far as the “Land” part of the tour prior to the “Sea” part.  Both are “Double Denali” and then one goes to Anchorage then Seward before arriving in Whittier for the cruise while the other goes to Talkeetna then Alyeska before arriving in Whittier.  I would appreciate any thoughts on why one might prefer one option over the other.

I’ve  been to both and I would choose the Seward option.  There is a lot to do in Seward with Kenai Fjords, Sealife Center, Exit Glacier, and more.  Alyeska is a beautiful resort and has hiking opportunities and amazing views.  Anchorage is worth an overnight as there is a lot to see there even if you just wander around town and the bus ride from Anchorage to Seward down Turnagain Arm is amazing.
