orangeglitter Posted March 2, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2021 I just cancelled a cruise. It was a casino cruise that I had made $400 deposit that I was to get back as on board credit. I received a email from christine duffy saying I could cancel. I was assured that I would receive a refund. I just got the refund confirmation. It says nothing about the $400 dollars only that the taxes and fees will be refunded. I says not to call..... Does this seem correct?
d12j28 Posted March 2, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2021 Yes, your port fees and taxes will be refunded to original form of payment. The rest will be FCC minus any penalties (if you are being charged a penalty).
orangeglitter Posted March 2, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted March 2, 2021 no one said anything about FCC. I am suppose to get a refund. Agent said refund would be to credit card. But email did not say anything about refund. That is why I am worried.
tqc_cruiser Posted March 2, 2021 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2021 Did you book using $400 FCC or did you book with a credit card using $400? If you paid using a credit card using $400, then it seems as if you should receive $400 back to your card. I would call if you paid the $400 with a credit card. It may be they think you used FCC to book the cruise. Here is the relevant part from the email sent by Carnival: Option 2: If you are not comfortable waiting, you may cancel any time between now and March 31, 2021 and receive a full refund to your original form of payment. If you booked with an FCC, you will receive a refund for any amount paid above the FCC. You will retain the FCC (and the accompanying OBC) as long as your next cruise is booked by September 30, 2021 for a sailing departing by April 30, 2023. Taxes, fees and port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, pre-paid gratuities, pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, beverage and Wi-Fi packages, and Fun Shop purchases will also be automatically refunded to the original form of payment. If the cruise is eventually cancelled, and your booking did not already have an FCC/OBC, you will notbe eligible for the rebooking offer made to guests who remain on the sailing.
