Where do the ships dock?

Recommended Posts

Each port has 2 cruise terminals. IIRC the one Margaret Rees refers to above is the Singapore Cruise Centre and additionally is very near Sentosa Island with its Hotels, Casino, Theme Park etc. The other one is at Marina Bay but I haven't been there yet (!) so sorry can't help. In Hong Kong if you are at the Ocean Terminal then you are right in the centre of Kowloon with its many attractions and links to other parts of the city. The other terminal is at the old airport at Kai Tak and is further out and is not on the subway so buses or taxis are needed to go into the main part of the city.

Thank you for your answers.I know Ocean Terminal as I stayed in the hotel Hong Kong several times and the Ocean Terminal led into the mall the hotel was in.  Hoping that's where it will dock.Hope the other one is as easy.

We started and ended in Singapore Marina bay 2019 . Few nights in Singapore pre cruise taxis were very cheap. On return to Singapore all taxis charged $60 even if just down to town or airport or hotel. There were a few hawkers but very few as it’s policed well.

one of the best cities in world

food excellent

clean and weather wow 😀🍾

To be certain and to help your planning, you can usually check the website of each terminal as they usually have a section about "cruise ship schedule" for each year. Just google eg" Kai Tak cruise terminal Hong Kong"  For info on the cruise terminals themselves and for transport options, it is also worth a look at sites such as whatsinport and cruisemapper, both of which we have used extensively.  There is sometimes a link on each of those sites which takes you directly to the cruise ship schedule.

Definitely worth a look as you can also  check the schedule to see how many other ships are in the same day as you, because in smaller ports (which these are not) passenger numbers can impact your sightseeing and transport.

Enjoy.  Both are fabulous places to visit especially in the lead up to Cinese New Year when they are a riot of colour.. Of the two, our favourite is  HK as we struggle with the even higher heat and humidity in Singapore.

SMOKERS BEWARE. THERE IS NO DUTY FREE ALLOWANCE FOR TOBACCO IN SINGAPORE AND DUTY IS PAYABLE ON ALL TOBACCO PRODUCTS. THEY X-RAY AT THE PORT.  E_CIGARETTES ARE ALSO BANNED IN SINGAPORE.  HONG KONG ALLOWS ONLY 19 CIGARETTES IN TOTAL DUTY FREE<SO  NOT EVEN ONE FULL PACK. CHECK CURRENT REGULATIONS BEFORE YOU TRAVEL THERE AS THERE MAY BE CHANGES.
