What did you do in Laguna San Rafael?

I have several questions about our stop at Laguna San Rafael and would appreciate hearing from your experiences.  Our ship anchors at the entrance to the lake, so we're limited in our options.

  • Did you take a ship's excursion?  Catamaran or by land?
  • I know it's quite remote in that area - are there any tours available at the dock?  Is there a town at the dock?
  • If you booked with someone other than the ship, can you recommend a tour operator?  Was it by boat or land?

Please share your thoughts - pros and cons.  Much appreciated!
