Thanksgiving in Mexico

This could turn out to be a very dumb question, but I'm quite ignorant of traditions in Mexico and haven't been able to find consistent answers online.

 

We're booked on a cruise to Cozumel and Progreso the week of Thanksgiving 2021 (crossing my fingers that it's safe to cruise by then).  One of the excursions we're looking at visits a school near Progreso (my daughter is a teacher so she's interested in seeing how kids are taught in other countries).  I ASSUME that Mexican schools won't close for Thanksgiving, but I've seen conflicting information on this.

Thanksgiving is an American holiday, so it’s business as usual in other countries that day.

The link my daughter sent me which seemed to suggest that there was a Thanksgiving holiday in Mexico was from the school district in the town of Mexico, Missouri.
