BVILady Posted April 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2021 Since Venice is not permitting cruise ships any longer, has anybody been informed what port Costa is using instead of Venice. Apparently Royal Caribbean is using Porto Corsini according confirmations I have received. I have not heard from Costa Cruises yet for cruise booked on Costa Deliziosa
latin princess Posted April 27, 2021 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Not sure this comes into effects immediately. An item in you tube cruise news said will need to build new terminal at the commercial dock on the main land first. So suppose we wait and see
kremerlorraine Posted April 27, 2021 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2021 The Italian Government issued a decree in March saying that, as a temporary measure, the intention was that cruise ships would have to use the same route as commercial shipping, ending up at the industrial port of Marghera. But it's only an intention, and there was no concrete news of a terminal being built. But as there will probably be another government along shortly, who knows what will actually happen! Both Costa and MSC are still scheduling cruises out of "Venice".
BVILady Posted April 28, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted April 28, 2021 Leaving from Venice is really good news for me. I rather spend 2 nights in Venice then in Trieste.
