Curious, just got an offer if I wanted to change my cruise to another 7 day cruise because this one is overbooked. They will give us $250.00 shipboard credit per person, upgrade to balcony and upto $100.00 for airfare change penalty. Can not do it because wife is a teacher and vacation times are limited. Does anyone knows what happens if they do not get enough people to to accept their offer.

They make better offers. Eventually enough people give in.

I had 3 seperate calls on my Alaska cruise, each one better than the call before. The final offer was a free cruise (on another week), upgrade and $100 change fee.

As noted above, they will perhaps "sweeten the pot".

Several years ago, on old Pacific Princess, we were getting phones calls as late as the morning of our flight to Honolulu to take a bump. We kept the cruise, but some of the offers were very generous.
